Supporting our Community

IronOak believe in giving back and we're proud to support our community through sponsorship

Upside Downs Trust

Upside Downs provide speech and language therapy services to Kiwi kids with Down Syndrome. Daniel, IronOak's Managing Director initially trained and worked as a Speech and Language Therapist so this is a cause with which he feels a strong connection. With the Barrett brothers as ambassadors, Upside Downs has recently enjoyed some excellent media exposure.

Titrirangi Rudolf Steiner School

IronOak is very proud to have a donation agreement in place with the local and vibrant Steiner School. IronOak makes a donation to the school when working with anyone directly connected eg. parents, teachers, board of trustee members. Famous in West Auckland for the monthly markets and the yearly Advent Fair, be sure to check them out. Offering an holistic approach to education with a focus on natural rhythms and events, Steiner graduates are well-known for their confident and centred approach to not only life but also to themselves.

Lactic Turkey Events, Wild Auckland Series

Lactic Turkey presents a series of events that are achievable, approachable, not overly competitive (unless you want it to be), affordable and fun for all levels of fitness and experience. They have organised events that are fundraisers for local schools, The Graeme Dingle Foundation, KidsCan, the Auckland Zoo Orangutan programme and The Westy Trust , and sponsored youth events like the Hillary Challenge and Get2Go. IronOak's Managing Director, Daniel, has been a competitor in Lactic Turkey events since 2005 with his 3 sons taking up the mantle in recent years.

Kids and Kauris

IronOak's Managing Director, Daniel, loves getting outdoors and has been hiking for some 45 years in the hills and mountains around New Zealand and other countries. A Titirangi local for twelve years and father to three sons, most weekends you'll find him and his boys out hiking. Daniel organises group events, suitable for families, and welcomes anyone to come along and join in. Descriptions, pictures, experiences and plans of past, planned and future hikes can all be found on Facebook at Kids and Kauris.

Ella Soper, Karate champion

Ella has been involved in Karate since she was five years old. Today, at the ripe old age of 15, she has won multiple titles including being three time New Zealand Champion. Sponsoring Ella seemed like a natural fit for IronOak. As Director, Daniel Smithwood says, "Ella is local, has incredible support from her family and shows amazing dedication, attitude and work ethic. We're excited to be involved in helping a rising star achieve her goals." You can follow Ella's progress on Facebook or Instagram.

"A massive heartfelt thank you to IronOak Financial Services for sponsoring me!! These guys are all about strength, flexibility and performance. A little bit like me."

Lisa Garrud, Miss Skate

Lisa trains and competes in the world of artistic roller skating (not to be confused with roller derby). She has won medals in her grade at NZ Nationals, Australian Nationals and Oceanias. Lisa is also a small business owner and coaches learn-to-skate classes. IronOak proudly sponsored Lisa for two years. Managing Director, Daniel says, "Having been a competitive sportsperson myself, high performance sportspeople always have my respect, especially when it's in addition to full time work, small business ownership and parenting!" You can follow what Lisa's up to on Facebook.

"GOLD!!! Masters Creative Solo Dance. Despite falling, I managed to get it back together enough! Thank you so much to my sponsor IronOak Financial Services for getting me here! I took out an income protection policy (along with other benefits) with Daniel a few years back. The policy was still very new when I had to make a claim. I was pregnant at the time and at the 3-month mark I injured my back. I was so well supported by Daniel and he made what could have been a very difficult claim an easy one. It was such a relief to have the support of Daniel and the policy at a critical time. My initial apprehension of 'another' policy proved unfounded and the investment truly paid off. I didn't have to stress about how I was going to cover my expenses and was able to focus fully on my health and recovery."
